The non-fictional book, â€Å"The Lost Children of Wilder; The Epic Struggle to Change Foster Care† written by a reporter of The New York Times Nina Berstein, is an inspiring story about the lack of proper funding and placement of children in the foster care system in New York City from before 1972 to today. This book in specifics focus on an attorney and child advocate Marcia Lowery who respectfully stood up to the entire foster care system of New York City using the face of then, thirteen year old Shirley Wilder and her soon born son Lamont Wilder. Shirley Wilder was a troubled African-American child who was raised in a drunk and abusive home. As a child both her parents neglected her; her father, Jay All, was a jealous and drunken abusive husband and her mother, Helen Wilde, was a drunken â€Å"party animal† who soon became sick with tuberculosis. Moreover, a year after Shirley was born her parents married in a Baptist church; which joined her mother, father, sister and not Shirley by the father s last name. It can be interesting how two different newspapers will report the same news in a slightly different manner. This can be viewed in the following two articles that were recently published: â€Å"New commander for Mideast says ‘time is short’ on Iraq future† [International Herald Tribune (IHT)] By Brian Knowlton (Published: January 30, 2007) and â€Å"‘Time is short’ for Iraq turnaround: US commander† [Agence France-Presse (AFP)] by Jim Mannion (Published: January 30, 2007) In summation, both articles inform the public that in Admiral William Fallon’s testimony to the US Senate, he stated his belief that a turnaround for success in Iraq is possible if a new strategy is implemented, but the window of opportunity for success is very small. There are two similar photographs that accompany the articles. In both photos, the Admiral holds up his hands in a gesture of emphasizing his seriousness. The photos complement the story well as they provide a clear image of the Admiral. Both articles provide the basic facts of the situation that relates to the headline, but then segue into different subject matter. The IHP drifts into a discussion on the dangers that Iran poses to US and Western European interests while the AFP article drifts into reports about civilian casualties and loss of life/ While both articles are factual, it is obvious that both articles also have a certain bias to them. The IHP article clearly tries to label Iran as the main villain in the conflict while the AFP uses the article to make the US war effort look like a grim failure. Granted, Fallon touched on both issues in his testimony, but it is curious how both papers â€Å"cherry picked† what to report and how to report it. To a great degree, the IHP article was far more enjoyable because it had a glimmer of hope in its contents. The AFP article was downbeat and gloomy, emphasizing death and destruction. While the situation in Iraq is dire, there should always be a sense of hope present for the future. Three important points, which are emphasized in the study, to increase the efficiency, are as follows. The selected organization in the study is SLH Group (Slhgroup.co.uk, 2016). SLG group is one of the most significant nonprofit organizations in the United Kingdom. It operates its business in the United Kingdom mainly in Liverpool (Slhgroup.co.uk, 2016). Three concepts that the organization should consider The objective of the study is to highlight all the factors of a nonprofit organization, which will allow the organization to increase efficiency in the organization. The company has done well towards achieving the customer services excellence. The objective of the different nonprofit organization is to contribute to the society (Reider, 2012). Primarily the company needs to develop a proper team, which will allow the organization to identify what are the critical areas of the community that need to be developed (Zhang, 2012). The organization needs to develop a proper target area in which all the activities needs to be formulated in an appropriate manner which will allow the organization to develop an adequate plans and proceedings. Methods and procedures are essential in every organization whether it a nonprofit organization or a profit organization. Different approaches and circumstances will allow any group to develop a proper business strategy (Reider, 2012). The final objective, which needs to be formulated for a nonprofit organization, is to identify the most economical challenged areas in the economy. In different countries, whether a developed country or a developing country there are few areas, which are economically challenged. The developed team in the organization needs to identify the economically challenged area of the country (Slhgroup.co.uk, 2016). It will allow the team to identify all the backward and economically challenged area of the country. There are individual goals and objectives in the organizations (Reider, 2012). The job of an efficient organization is to identify all key areas, which will allow the organization to transform all the activities of the organization in a common direction, which will allow the nonprofit enterprise to achieve the common organizational goals and objectives (Zhang, 2012). Conclusion The concluding part of the study wills summarizes all the key areas which the nonprofit organization needs to develop in the operations of the business. There are three important areas, which are identified in the study, which will allow the selected group to develop its business plans, and policies. A team needs to be formulated in the body, which will enable the organization to identify the critical areas. The second point, which is highlighted in the study, is the process of development of a proper plans and proceedings, which will allow the organization to achieve the common organizational goals and activities. The final concept, which is highlighted in the study, is to identify the economically backward areas of the country.
